No Budge in Budget

Calgary - McCall MLA Shiraz Shariff went to the press Saturday to suggest the budget squabbles between the Stelmach regime and the Bronconnier contingency stay out of the press. The irony of going to the press to ask his colleagues to not go to the press seems to be lost on him.

Calgary Man Takes Matter Into His Own Hands – Boot Camp Style!

Calgary , ABEnough is enough”, says Allan Fine, local Owner and Head Fitness Trainer of the Calgary Adventure Boot Camp.  “I’m tired of this killer running around loose and taking over 300,000 lives a year!

Sound dramatic?  Well, there’s no drama here.  What Mr. Fine is speaking of comes from the Centers for Disease Control which states that “poor nutrition and physical inactivity account for over 300,000 premature deaths in the North America each year.”  If that doesn’t constitute a serial killer, Mr. Fine wants to know what does. Environmental Plan - At What Price Green?

Canadians For Kyoto Rally - Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Green, Green, Green. The federal government has announced their plan to reduce greenhouse gases 18% by 2010. As has become the standard in these polarized times, conservatives complain the plan is too expensive while liberals complain there are too many loopholes.

Especially concerned with the new plan are the business owners in Calgary, particularly those in the oil community. With Alberta’s green scheme and Canada’s reduction production there are worries that Calgary’s business sector will be doubly hit.
