The New Court Is Crowned - Calgary Stampede 2007

Monday, April 23rd, 2007 posted by Crepehanger

Congratulations to Amanda Byrne, Caia Morstad, and the 2007 Stampede Queen Amanda Kochan!  Kochan, a sophomore at Mount Royal College, is excited to use her role as Stampede Queen to promote the Western ideals she sees as integral to modern Calgary. With over 400 personal appearances planned for the 2007 court she will have plenty of opportunities to demonstrate exactly what she means.  Filling the cowboy boots of the 2006 Queen, Cheryl Dafoe, won’t be easy, but Kochan sounds like she is ready for the challenge.

The Mayor feels the budget doesn’t live up to the promises Stelmach had made particularly regarding the LRT.  That can’t make dealing with the transit union any easier.  Bronconnier also sees the budget as being unfairly slanted away from the municipal areas. Read the rest of this article »
