Shakespeare Returns To Calgary

Toronto and Vancouver may have been entertaining with Willie for longer, but Calgary’s just as eager to continue its newer Shakespearean tradition.

Mount Royal College will again be presenting Shakespeare in the Park. This summer’s selections include Macbeth, As You Like It, and the abridged Complete Works Of William Shakespeare.


You can get your outdoor play fix beginning in a few weeks on July 3 at the college and then from July 31 at Prince’s Island Park. Read the rest of this article »

Calgary Club Scene Takes A Royal Twist

A little royal bar hopping has been beebopping through the Calgary night scene. Young Prince Harry, third in line for the British throne, has been enjoying his time in the city.

For those of you into the club scene, you might want to stop by Tantras, one of the club’s on the prince’s list. And be sure to linger at Cowboys where the almost Canada’s hottest bartender, Cherie Cymbalisty gleaned the royal eye-over.


Perhaps if Cherie’s there, the young prince may stop in.

Calgary Going to the Dogs

Alderman Ric McIver has dogs on the brain. He plans to look at the possibilities of creating a handful of dog parks to help better serve the dog owners and perhaps reduce some of the conflicts between dog owners and non-dog owners.
