Robert Picardo Morena Baccarin

Your chance to meet a holographic doctor, a Companion, a gamma-ray infused super hero, and a Sith Lord is this weekend at the 2007 Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo!  This year they have packed the Roundup Centre with artists, actors, and anarchy (brought to you by The 404’s Improv Group).

Robert Picardo will be on hand to sign autographs and talk about his stint as the Emergency Medical Hologram from Star Trek: Voyager.  Stargate fans will know Picardo as Agent Richard Woolsey and, fittingly for the Comic Expo, he provided the voice of Amazo on Justice League.

Fans of the cult favorite Firefly will be treated to the rare opportunity to meet the lovely Morena Baccarin (Inara) who, like Robert Picardo, is also known from her work on Stargate and her voice over talents on Justice League.  Christina Hendricks from Firefly will also be appearing.  You might remember her as the con artist Saffron.  Had the show continued, I have no doubt we would have seen more of her.

Flying in from the Star Wars universe is Darth Maul himself, Ray Park.  Glasgow born Park also portrayed Toad in the X-Men film.  As a stuntman, Park was the Headless Horseman in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow.

Ray Park might have the martial arts pedigree, but for pure power nobody beats the Hulk!  Lou Ferrigno will be flexing his hand muscles signing autographs and shaking hands with fans at the Comic Expo.  His recent work on sitcoms like Reno 911 and King of Queens has helped prove he isn’t just a human juggernaut, but a fine actor as well.

And what would Calgary Comic Expo be without the artists!  Artists include the creators of Harley Quinn and all around DC universe megastars Bruce Timm and Paul Dini, Disney’s Tony Bancroft, and Kim Possible’s Stephen Silver.  While at the Expo, make sure you pick up a copy of the 2007 Calgary Comic Expo Artbook with 24 of the appearing artists making contributions.  Stay for the charity auction where the originals will go to the highest bidder.
