Calgary Flames lost to Colorado

April 3rd, 2007 posted by SkGold

The Calgary Flames had a chance to finish the season and get to the playoff round tonight. Unfortunately the Flames lost to the Colorado Avalanche 3:4. Perhaps the Calgary Flames were tired after six straight wins as they played completely different.

There were too many Calgary penalties, a total of five. Three times Calgary was penalized in the second period. Two out of the four goals scored by Colorado were power play goals. We (Calgary Flames) need more discipline, especially in matches with teams like Colorado.

Jeff Friesen, Roman Hamrlik and Daymond Langkow scored for the Flames and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 19 of the 23 shots on net. You may see the official statistics and video highlights in the Calgary Flames newsroom.

Calgary is five points ahead of Colorado in the Western Conference and both teams have three games remaining. The Calgary Flames still have a good chance of getting into playoffs, we just need one win, however the Avalanche have to win all three games.

  1. Next game Calgary will be playing with the Sharks in San Jose on Thursday, April 5 at 8:30 p.m.
  2. Then Saturday April 7 at 8:00 p.m. the Flames meet the Oilers at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
  3. And the final game the Calgary Flames will play is away from home again with the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday April 8 at 7 p.m.

So let’s cheer for the Calgary Flames. GO FLAMES GO!!!
