What’s Up for Calgary Flames with the NHL Draft?
May 12th, 2007 posted by FlamesFanHey fellow Flames Fans! I’ve been keeping an eye on the flames’ website www.calgaryflames.com but I haven’t seen anything about the upcoming NHL entry draft regarding what the local team is looking for.
Has anybody heard anything about the picks Calgary’s after? June 22, 23 isn’t that far away now. Some of the prospects look pretty good. How about Kyle Turris (BCHL) or Patrick Kane (OHL)? They’re rated the top two North American skaters. What are the odds? The Philadelphia Flyers tend to grab defensemen and goaltenders (second overall pick) and as for the Chicago Blackhawks, they’re likely to grab a good skater. They won the first overall pick for this year’s draft down in Columbus, Ohio.
Are they keeping Playfair? I mean, give the guy a break. It takes time to get to know your players and develop a system that works with franchise methods. 43-29-10 is a respectable first year record.
Keep the coach; and let’s get some good draft picks to see in the upcoming years. So does anyone know who they’re looking at? I don’t even know what picks we have — I’ve been looking on their site for that too.
