Cinco de Mayo Calgary Style for the 30-40 Crowd

Make Your Plans! Celebrating the Mexican victory at the Battle of Puebla might not sound very exciting, but call it Cinco de Mayo and the party begins!

Afternoon:
Start you celebration at Fantino Fusion. Known for it’s blending of Latin and Mediterranean food and ambience, Fantino Fusion will be expanding their usual Saturday salsa and merengue live music for Cinco de Mayo. While salsa dancing will still be the focus, expect to see a traditional Mariachi band as well. The fun begins at 2pm and that leaves plenty of time to for more Mexican flavored fun!

Early Evening:
I don’t normally think of the Zoo as the place to meet new people, but that will change on May 5th. The Calgary Zoo is having a Cinco de Mayo party for singles ages 30-45 only. Following a light buffet style dinner at 7 pm there will be games to encourage mingling and dancing until midnight. At $55 for all the fun, including your first drink, I can’t guarantee you’ll find your soul mate, but you will find a good time. Tickets must be purchased in advance!

Late Night:
The Whiskey is the perfect place to continue the party. Saturday nights are 25 and over and May 5th will be no different. With “retro” music and Top 40 dance music, it’s the perfect topper to your Cinco de Mayo fiesta! When you need a break from the dance floor you can head to the roof top for the best al fresco experience in Calgary.
