Red Wings crashed the Calgary Flames in Detroit

Saturday, April 21st, 2007 posted by SkGold

Once again the Detroit Red Wings crashed the Calgary Flames in Detroit, this time 5:1. Regardless of the score, the Flames played much better than in the first and second quarterfinal game. They showed much more effort, but who cares the Calgary Flames lost and lost big.

There is no surprise that the Red Wings out shot the Flames 38-24. Miikka Kiprusoff made very good saves through traffic, however he could only stop 33 shots.

There were so many turnovers especially in the second period. The Flames allowed 2 short-handed goals. (more…)

It’s the second time in a row now that the Calgary Flames beat the Detroit Red Wings at the Pengrowth Saddledome. And it’s the second time in a row the score is 3:2 for Calgary. Now the Western Conference quarterfinal series with Detroit is tied at 2:2. Keep it up Flames!!!

Looks like the Flames are picking it up and are starting to play each game better and better. This game was a real pleasure to watch. It reminded me of the last playoff series with Detroit when the Red Wings were eliminated in game 6 in Calgary. I hope this series will end the same way.

Daymond Lankgow scored 2 powerplay goals and Craig Conroy also scored for the Calgary Flames. (more…)

Yeeeee HAW! Calgary Flames beat the Detroit Red Wings 3:2 today in Pengrowth Saddledome. This is a huge come back for the Calgary Flames in this quarterfinal playoff series with the Detroit Red Wings. The series is now 2-1 for Detroit.

The Flames played much better than in the previous games one and two in Detroit. It was a much more physical game, and they were much more disciplined. Finally, we can see that Jarome Iginla can play. He did a screen on the second Calgary Flames goal by Mark Giordano and scored the beautiful winning goal. (more…)
