Canadians Hosting BMX World Cup

BMX World Cup

The website for the BMX 2007 World Cup is up and running. For those of you non-BMXers, this year’s championship will be held in Victoria, B.C. on a brand new track (as is the tradition).

The track was scheduled for completion in March but the website hasn’t been updated with completed track photos. And guess what? USA’s Tom Ritzenthaler is at it again. This year’s World Cup is another one of Tom’s designs. (Have you peeked at his Olympic layout yet?)


Ritzenthanler has treated us with another one of his split straight tracks. The killer side has two different must-jump doubles or you’ll end up on your back. Read the rest of this article »

2008 BMX Olympic Track Revealed

Got Gold Fever yet? The 2008 Olympics – the first for BMX – is getting closer. It’s so close now that they’ve released the track layout.

The actual track construction was scheduled to begin this month - May 2007 - with UCI track builder, Tom Ritzenthaler (USA) leading the construction. Some of you may recall last year’s World Cup Track, which I believe was another Ritzenthaler creation.

Calgary Man Takes Matter Into His Own Hands – Boot Camp Style!

Calgary , ABEnough is enough”, says Allan Fine, local Owner and Head Fitness Trainer of the Calgary Adventure Boot Camp.  “I’m tired of this killer running around loose and taking over 300,000 lives a year!

Sound dramatic?  Well, there’s no drama here.  What Mr. Fine is speaking of comes from the Centers for Disease Control which states that “poor nutrition and physical inactivity account for over 300,000 premature deaths in the North America each year.”  If that doesn’t constitute a serial killer, Mr. Fine wants to know what does.
