Deep down somewhere in everybody there is a bit of love for horticulture. Of course we all love the planet and the great things that it produces. However, at the Calgary Zoo, horticulture plays a big part in there unique displays. The Calgary Zoo offers many fascinating displays of horticulture from rainforest exhibits to the Dorothy Harvie Gardens.
The Calgary Horticultural Society (CHS), which began it’s annual garden competition in 1907, has played host to many amateur gardeners around Calgary for 100 years marking the centennial edition of the Society’s garden competition. Read the rest of this article »

As many of you know the Calgary Stampede plays host to many exciting fun filled events for the whole family on a year round basis. However, some individuals think that the grounds of the stampede need a new facelift. This means that there will be jobs created and alot of work to be performed on the Calgary stomping ground. Backed by the federal government and local authorities, the Calgary Stampede will be receiving a whopping settlement for these upgrades. $53 million to be exact.
When it comes to expansion, it just doesn’t happen overnight. With the months and years that it has taken to plan these events, timing played a beneficial part in the expansion. Read the rest of this article »
