Wrong way to do the business on Internet

March 26th, 2007 posted by SkGold

The Internet is a great invention of mankind. It allows small local private companies a chance to expand their business worldwide. The Internet allows the opening of small online business with a little effort and with a little to almost no starting capital.

So if you are doing or planning to do business on the Internet, do it right. Don’t scam, don’t spam, do not fraud. Don’t abuse it or you lose it (I like this phrase. You will find it all over this site).

Don’t think that if you do business through the Internet in Canada you may fraud people in USA or Mexico with impunity and nobody will find you. Eventually you will be caught and will pay for all your fraudulent creations.

On March 10, 2007 two dwellers from our neighbour city Okotoks were arrested for Internet fraud.

According to Okotoks RCMP:

“Aaron William VASSIE, 33 and Christa Nicole VASSIE, 29 both of Okotoks have been charged with twenty-six counts of fraud under the provisions of the Criminal Code of Canada. Both have been released from custody and will appear before a Provincial Court in Okotoks on May 1, 2007.”

The Okotoks couple was selling but not delivering various electronic items through e-Bay and Buysell.com (Bargain Finder). Items include computer notebooks, digital cameras, I-Pods, electric guitars and even plasma TVs.

The first incident was received on July 2003 from a North Dakota victim. The victims are from all over the world USA, Mexico, England and various places within Canada.

According to the Okotoks newspaper ‘Western Wheel’ RCMP constable Grant Kneller said:

“They (the victims) are definitely angry that they have been taken advantage of, but to this point, they are more relieved and satisfied that they can see results now, of course they want their money back, but they are pleased to find out that this was finally going to be settled.”

The Okotoks RCMP is continuing their investigation and we are going to hear more about this case after May 01, 2007.
